Read the Bible With Us This Winter

The unfolding of your words gives light… (Psa 119:130)

We would love to have you read the Bible with us in 2020. To help you grow in understanding, devotion, and love for God, our daily Bible reading plan takes us on a journey through all sections of God’s written revelation to mankind:

  • Each Sunday and Wednesday we’ll read a psalm (to lift our hearts in worship and provide mid-week refreshment)
  • Most weekdays we’ll read a chapter from the New Testament (to fix our eyes on Jesus, reminding ourselves of what it means to be his disciple) and a chapter from the Old Testament (to expand our knowledge of God’s great plan to save mankind)
  • Each Saturday we’ll read a chapter from Proverbs (to grow in wisdom)

As you open your Bible in 2020, develop the habit of praying that God would prepare your heart and help you see. The Psalms are full of things to pray as you open God’s book:

  • “Open my eyes to see wonderful things in your law” (119:18)
  • “Teach me, O LORD, the way of your statutes” (119:33)
  • “Lead me in the path of your commandments” (119:35)
  • “Incline my heart to your testimonies” (119:36)
  • “Give me life in your ways” (119:37)
  • “Unite my heart to fear your name” (86:11)
  • “Satisfy me with your steadfast love” (90:14)

Finally, do you realize that reading entire books of the Bible doesn’t take nearly as long as most imagine? Check out this infographic from Crossway:

Yes, friend, you do have time to read God’s word, it’s just a matter of choices and priorities. “Man shall not live by bread alone” (Matt 4:4). Those were our Lord’s words. Let’s take them seriously and interact with his word every day in 2020.
